Agnes B. Warbitsky, 103, Velva, formerly of Butte, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, May 17 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Butte, with burial in the Butte Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church. A family service will be held Tuesday evening at 6:30 P. M. at Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home of Drake.

Agnes Boyko Warbitsky was born January 7, 1914 to Kost and Eftemina (Mesenko) Boyko in Greatstone Township southeast of Benedict where she grew up. She attended country school at Greatstone Township and graduated from the eighth grade in 1928. Later she attended Minot High School and graduated in 1933. She also attended Minot State University and received a two year professional teaching certificate in 1935. She taught for eight years in the Benedict and Butte area. In January 16, 1943 she married Alex Warbitsky, son of Mr. & Mrs. Harry Warbitsky in Washburn ND. They made their home on the Warbitsky homestead in the Byersville Township in McLean County and farmed and milked cows. Agnes was known for her large gardens and for giving away produce to neighbors and family. Alex and Agnes retired in 1985 but continued to live on the homestead and later Alex entered the Harvey Nursing Home and Alex passed away in March 12, 1998. Agnes continued to live on the farm till 2001. She then moved to the Souris Valley Care Center in Velva. Agnes was a lifelong member of the Butte Seventh Day Adventist Church where she taught Sabbath School in Ukrainian and English. She was a member of the Dorcas Society of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was also a member of the Butte Senior Citizens and a lifetime member of the Drake Threshing Association. She was proud to have been recognized by the Drake Threshing Association in 2016. Although Agnes and Alex had no children they raised a nephew Donald Fleming who now resides in Saint Peters, Missouri. Agnes was always known as "aunty mom" to Donald.

In addition to Donald, Agnes is survived by many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alex; brothers and sisters, Bessy Podruchney Haverluck, Harry Boyko, Mack Boyko, Peter Boyko, John Boyko, Dan Boyko, Anna Zalomsky Sobrosky, Dorothy Jones, Edith Kovaloff, Paul Boyko, Helen Anderson, Katherine Anderson Stevens and Andrew Boyko.

Family wishes to have all memorials given to the Butte Cemetery Association or the donor's wishes.
