Alice Gross, 90, Carrington, formerly of Alexandria, MN and the Chaseley, ND area, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, September 4, at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carrington with burial at Hillside Cemetery in Fessenden. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Arrangements with Nelson Funeral Home of Fessenden.

Alice Erfle, daughter of Jake and Elizabeth (Schaeffer) Erfle, was born September 3, 1927 near Chaseley, ND where she was raised and attended country school.

On July 15, 1955, she was married to Kenneth Gross in Fargo. They made their home in Fessenden until the early 1960s when they moved to Carrington where Alice worked at the Carrington Health Center. In 1969 they moved to Alexandria, MN where she provided daycare services for many years. They later lived in Elk River, MN for a short time before moving to Carrington in 2012 where she had resided since. Kenneth passed away November 22, 2014.

Alice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Carrington. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, playing bingo and visiting the casino.

She is survived by her children, Sharon (Jerry) Hatfield of Centerville, IA, Julie (David) Ayers of Pendleton, OR and Mel (Sandi) Gross of Carrington; 46 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Gloria Garrett of Carrington; sisters, Helen Holzer of East Troy,WI and Adeline (Mick) Lloyd of Fessenden; and sister-in-law, Martha Dell of Fargo.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Lee Garrett; her parents; brothers, Leao Erfle and Melvin Erfle; daughter-in-law, Linda Garrett; and great-grandson, Austin Flick
