Aloisious 'Woody' Selzler, 80, of Anamoose, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at his home in Anamoose. His funeral will be held Monday, October 12, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Francis-Xavier Catholic Church in Anamoose with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M. followed by a 7 P.M. prayer service all at the church. Arrangements are with Nelson Funeral Home of Drake.

Woody Selzler, son of August and Amelia (Held) Selzler, was born August 18, 1940 in Harvey. He grew up in the Anamoose area where he attended the White Township School and graduated from the eighth

grade at Selz. He then enrolled at the Notre Dame Academy High School at Willow City and was an altar server for Father Neva.

Following high school, Woody entered the Armed Forces National Guard and served as Administrative Supply Technician stationed in Harvey.

On October 27, 1966 Woody married Kathy Dusek. They made their home and farmed in the Anamoose area. In addition to farming, Woody enjoyed working for the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, feeding deer during the winter months and cultivating trees on the Lonetree Wildlife area. He retired from the National Guard in 2000.

During his retirement years, he kept busy mowing lawns, tinkering in his shop, and haggling wheels, deals and steals. Woody was known for his quick wit and humor and was an avid story teller. He enjoyed drinking coffee (beer in his younger days) and visiting. You knew he liked you if he had a nickname for you.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; 3 daughters, Corinne (Mark) Engen of Anamoose, Brenda Selzler of West Fargo and Cindy (Todd) Hogenson of Lake Park, MN; 5 grandchildren, Ryan & Kaya Engen and Hayden, Hallie & Tyler Hogenson; 3 brothers, Daniel (Darlene) of Washington, Arnie (Nancy) of Harvey and August Jr. (Tora) of Mandan; 4 sisters, Edith Schuelke of Florida, Caroline Bachmeier of Washington, Virginia Feichtinger of Washington and Reannie May of Anamoose.

Woody was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen Sieg and brothers, Leonard, Ray, Albert and Steve.
