They made their home and farmed in Hamberg Township until moving to Fessenden in 1981. Henry passed away March 15, 1991. Arlene continued to reside at her Fessenden home until moving to the Edgewood Assisted Living in Minot in July of 2019.

Arlene loved to work on the farm and remained interested in the family farming operation until her last days. She also loved to cook and bake, and was known for her delicious doughnuts and pies which she shared with everyone. Arlene's greatest love was for her family, her friends and her church.
