Barbara Ann Newman, 69, has passed at her home in Lakewood, Colorado.  Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 15, 2024 at the First Lutheran Church in Fessenden, ND with Pastor Shirley Teske officiating.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.  Burial will take place at the Hillside Cemetery in Fessenden.  The Nelson Funeral Home of Fessenden is in charge of the arrangements.

Barbara was born on September 29, 1954 to William and Adeline (Mehlhoff) Newman of Hamberg, ND.  She graduated from Fessenden High School in 1972.  She attended UND and graduated in 1976 as a Registered Nurse.

She practiced her profession in Madison, WI, San Diego, CA, Columbus, OH, and finally Lakewood, CO, making it her home.  While in Columbus, OH, she also pursued a degree in Political Science.  Barb was very intelligent and very independent.  She loved to read, learn and travel.

Barbara is survived by her siblings, Donna Wipf Fessenden, ND, Debra Newman  (Steve DeRicco) of Las Vegas, NV and William Newman of Hamberg, ND;  a nephew, Jesse (Jenny) Wipf of Keller, TX and a niece, Kodi (Chad) Keller of Fessenden, ND; two great nephews and two great nieces.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Lyle Wipf and her beloved dog, Keescha.
