Betty Rose (Herman) Hart was born October 19, 1934 on a farm near Chaseley, ND to Alex and Rose (Schatz) Herman. She was raised on a farm south of Hurdsfield and loved helping her dad with the farming and cattle. In 1945, Betty lost her mother at the age of 11 years old and her father in 1964. Her older sister Darlyne helped her father take care of Betty after their mother's passing.

Betty attended a rural grade school and graduated from Hurdsfield High School in 1952. After graduation, Betty earned a teaching certificate and taught school at the rural Silver Lake Township school and the Goodrich school. Betty married the love of her life, Warren, on June 3, 1954. Warren and Betty made their home on the Hart Family farm two miles south of Chaseley.  They were very busy working together on the farm where they raised 6 children. Warren was involved in a vehicle accident in April of 1986 that resulted in permanent disabilities. At that time, their son Corey took over the farming and ranching operation. Betty and Warren, together remained on the farm where she faithfully and lovingly cared for Warren for 23 years and enjoyed watching the farming and ranching activities continue. Betty remained on the farm until October of 2018.

Betty attended the United Methodist Church in Chaseley and was active in the womens group.  She was also a member of Eastern Star in Fessenden for many years. Betty was a very devoted and loving wife and mother. She loved to cook and bake. There was always a delicious home cooked meal and baked goodies for guests and grandchildren. Warren and Betty spent many hours playing cards with friends and family. They loved dancing and listening to a variety of music.  Betty always had a smile on her face and enjoyed watching the grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and participate in various activities. She will be missed dearly by all who were inspired by her smile, kind heart and friendliness.

Betty is survived by 4 daughters, Cindy (James) Russell, Weston, WI; Brenda (Clyde) Reimche, Harvey, ND; Kristi (Arvid) Rader, Mandan, ND; Melanie (Jeff) Fladland, Fargo, ND; 1 son, Corey (LeAnn) Hart, Chaseley, ND; 14 grandchildren, John (Emily) Russell, Aaron (Michelle) Russell, Amanda (Jeffrey) Schimke, Eric (Kacie) Reimche, Nicole (Mike) Ragan, Ryan (Amy) Rader, Michelle (Monte) Gangl, Nicholas (Abbey) Fladland, Shawn Fladland & Brandi (Ashton) Miller, Katie, Kyle, Kayla & Kurt Hart; and 15 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Claire, Vincent, David, Jonathan Russell; Sierra & Elaine Russell & Tanner & Zachary Heslip, Madison & Rebekah Schimke; Cayden & Maryn Reimche; Joey & Elsie Rader & Serenity Rants; Wyatt Gangl; along with many nieces and nephews.
