Betty F. Koenig, 89, Jamestown, North Dakota formerly of Bowdon, North Dakota passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the Bowdon Community Church of God.  Pastor Dale Peaslee will officiate and burial will be in the Wayside Cemetery, Bowdon, North Dakota at a later date.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  The service will be livestreamed at https://youtu.be/EJWwjTUkEHU Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden, North Dakota.

Betty Faye Nelson was born July 22, 1932 at Chaseley, North Dakota the daughter of Martin and Bertha (Jornesby) Nelson.  She attended school in Chaseley until the 8 ^th grade and finished high school by correspondence.

She married LeRoy Koenig on August 11, 1950 at the Bowdon Church of God parsonage.  They farmed in the Bowdon and Chaseley areas.  They moved to Hurdsfield in 1957 and lived there until 1980.  They then moved to Steele, North Dakota and returned to Bowdon in 1982, when LeRoy returned to working for Wells County Road Maintenance Crew.  They moved to Edgewood in Jamestown in May of 2017.

Betty was a member of the Bowdon Community Church of God.   She was a 4-H Leader and taught Sunday School at the United Methodist Church in Chaseley.  She was also a member of the Birthday Club and the Homemakers Club.

Betty is survived by her husband, LeRoy, Jamestown, ND, children Beth (Don) Renteria, Oak Creek, WI; and Marty (Nancy) Koenig, Jamestown, ND, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and sisters, Eleanora Hamman, Chaseley, ND, and Carol Whiteman, Bismarck, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two son, Todd and Hal.
