Beverly Huus, 82, Emrick, ND, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey. Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 25 from 3 P. M. To 5 P. M. At the Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden. A private family service will be held at the Nelson Funeral Home with burial at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.

Beverly Mashek, daughter of Louis and Hattie (Heyen) Mashek, was born October 10, 1933 at Wapheton. She grew up on the family farm near Wyndmere where she received her eduction.

On March 2, 1960 she was married to Duane Huus at Crookston, MN. They made their home in Valley City, Hillsboro, Finley and later Sharon, ND before moving to Emrick in 1975 where they resided since. In addition to assisting Duane with the operation of the Emrick Elevator for many years, Bev worked as a Certified Nurses Aide at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford for 19 years. She also worked as a volunteer at the Fessenden Thrift Shop for nearly 20 years.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Fessenden.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Duane; 1 daughter, Sandra (Diego Tijerina) Scott of Grafton; 4 sons, Kevin and Brian of Mesa, AZ, Mark of Williston and Paul (Melissa) of Pine Island, MN; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Carol (T. J.) Spale of Grafton, Helen (Raymond) Novotny of Lidgerwood and Jeanette Frostley of Chula Vista, CA.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents.
