Obituary

Bonnie Lou Kummer, 82, of Anamoose, ND, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, March 17, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Drake, ND.  Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Prayer Service Sunday, March 16, 2025 at the Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Drake.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be held at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Drake at a later date.  Arrangements are with the Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home of Drake, ND.

Bonnie Lou was born June 18, 1942 to Clarence and Josephine (Bromley) Ziebarth and raised on the family farm in McHenry County, ND.  She was educated at Strege Township School outside Balfour until the eighth grade.  Bonnie was no stranger to hard-work, helping her family at a young age on the farm for many years.

Bonnie was united in marriage to Foster Kummer on June 16, 1961 in Drake.  The couple welcomed five children to this union: Randy, Bryan, Terry, Cindy and Jeff.  The family lived in Drake, Lovell Wyoming, Bismarck, Harvey and Turtle Lake before settling in Anamoose.  Bonnie operated a Day Care in Anamoose, caring for many families around the area and had a special place in her heart for children.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Harvey Eagles Club, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Drake.

Bonnie enjoyed entertaining family and friends with any reason she could find to bring people together.  She liked tending to her flowers, playing Bingo, trips to the casino, camping and fishing in her earlier years, and more than anything enjoying time with family.  Another thing she looked forward to is frequenting the Anamoose Café where she met many new faces.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Randy (Carmen) Kummer of Wahpeton, ND, (Paula Kummer) of Minot, ND, Cindy (Mark) Roerick of Harvey, ND, and Jeff (Erin) Kummer of Jamestown, ND; 14 grandchildren, Heather Rydell, Sarah Mann, Bridget Sanderson, Steven Langham, Joey Clemens, Emily Zuck, Joseph Weninger, Justin Weninger, Kristy Johnson, Jacob Weninger, Toni Roerick, Rileigh Kummer, Noah Kummer, and Aria Kummer; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Darlene Schiele, Judy (Bennie) Schiele and Melvin (Colleen) Ziebarth; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Foster Kummer; sons, Bryan and Terry Kummer; granddaughter, Holly Kummer; sister Brenda, brother Randal, and sister Videll, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
