Carol Jean Marie Nichols, 72, Drake, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017 , on her mother's birthday, at her home in Drake.

Carol Jean Noel, daughter of Irving and Josephine (Keaty) Noel, was born January 19, 1945 at Baraboo, WI. She grew up in the Milwaukee, WI area where she graduated from St. Joan Antida High School. She then attended Milwaukee Area Technical School for several years where she earned several degrees. Carol Jean used her education to help people in need. She worked as counselor in a number of locations throughout the United States including Milwaukee, WI, Las Vegas, NV and Bonham, TX before moving to Drake in 2002.

A member of the United Community Baptist Church of Anamoose, Carol Jean had a very strong faith. One of her favorite phrases was, "My Peace I Leave With You".

She enjoyed music, dancing, reading, visiting the casinos on occasion, shopping and, most of all, her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacquelyn (Stephen Boatwright) Elton of Drake; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Judy (Rick) Overland, Mary Jo Shearer & Danielle Kleczka all of Milwaukee, WI and Dorothy (Bernard) Shanahan of Loganville, WI; 1 brother, Joe Noel of Milwaukee; god-daughter, Geni Noel Hacker of Milwaukee, WI; and 2 sisters-in-law, Judy Noel and Sarah Noel both of Milwaukee, WI.

Carol Jean was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jade Kaisler; and 2 brothers, Patrick and Terry Noel.

A memorial service and visitation will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home in Drake, beginning at 12:00 noon and continuing until 3:00 P. M
