Carol Ann Schneider, 65, Hamberg, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 at her home in Hamberg. In honoring Carol's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Family and church friends will gather at a later date to honor her memory. Arrangements with Nelson Funeral Home of Fessenden.

Carol Ann Sylling, daughter of Alvin and Orella (Bergmark) Sylling, was born December 20, 1953 at New Rockford. As a child she lived in the Bremen area before moving with her family to a farm north of Hamberg where she attended a nearby country school. She later attended Maddock Public School, graduating in 1971.

On November 18, 1976 she was united in marriage to James Schneider in Devils Lake. They made their home in Hamberg and Carol worked as a waitress at The Grill in Maddock for several years. In 1985, James and Carol opened their own business, Town and Country Locker, which they owned and operated in Hamberg for 27 years.

In addition to working side by side with Jim in the locker plant, Carol was active in the Hamberg community. She served as city auditor for 38 years and Hamberg Cemetery Sexton for a number of years. She was also an active member of the Viking Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, James; her sons, Jason of Bismarck and Justin (Krista) of Hamberg; and her sister, Diane (Rodney) Hjelden of Surrey.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
