Carolyne (Anderson) Bauer, 76, of Brownsville, TX, formerly of Butte, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in Illinois. Her funeral will be held Friday, May 18 at 10:30 A. M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Butte with burial in the Butte Cemetery. Arrangements are with Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home of Drake.

Carolyne (Anderson) Bauer, daughter of Harold and Evelyn (McCartney) Anderson was born in Minot, ND, November 6, 1941. She grew up in Butte and received her education there.

On November 27, 1959, Carolyne was united in marriage to Donald Bauer. They made their home in St. Charles, IL, moved to Virgil, IL and then traveled the United States through the years. They ended up in Brownsville, TX and still made the drive back to Butte every summer.

Carolyne worked at the former Howell Company in St. Charles and also for Deutz-Allis in Batavia, IL where she retired in 1992.

Carolyne enjoyed embroidering, sewing and creating beautiful quilts. She also enjoyed traveling the United States and in later years took several trips to Europe.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Butte.

She is survived by her daughter, Lauri Novak (spouse Mike Devo) of Elgin, IL and her son, Douglas of Carpentersville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald who passed away June 12, 2011; her parents, Harold and Evelyn Anderson and her brother, Kenneth 'Ole' Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, the Bauer family prefers memorials which they will direct to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Butte to assist in funding a worthy project, in memory of Carolyne.
