Christ M. Jaeger, 94, Fargo, formerly of Fillmore, North Dakota passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Little Flower Catholic Church, Rugby, North Dakota.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with Rosary recited at 10:15 AM at the church.  A slideshow of Christ's life can be viewed at https://youtu.be/aZK4SCluvec .  Arrangements are pending with Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden, North Dakota.

Christ M. Jaeger 94 years of age entered eternal life while residing at Bethany Retirement Homes in Fargo with his family by his side on November 3, 2023.

Christ was born on September 1, 1929, at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby ND to Lawrence and Eva (Schall) Jaeger. Christ attended elementary school in Silva ND, he attended the Assumption Abbey in Richardton ND and finished his education at St. Mary's Academy in Devils Lake ND.

Christ married Ardys (Willy) in October of 1951 at St. Boniface, Esmond ND. Together they raised their six children while farming and ranching south of Fillmore ND. The three most important things to Christ were his Catholic Faith, his Family, and the Jaeger Farm.

His Catholic Faith was the cornerstone of his life. Devoted and prayerful, he attended daily mass as often as he could. The family attended St. Anne's Catholic Church in Fillmore ND until it closed and then St. Boniface in Esmond ND. After retirement, Christ lived in Rugby until 2017 then moved to Riverview Assisted Living in Fargo, and then to Bethany Retirement Homes in June of 2023. He supported Little Flower Elementary School in Rugby, Nativity Elementary, Sacred Heart Middle School, and Shanley High School all in Fargo. Christ was a member of the Knights of Columbus rising to the 4th Degree in Rugby.

Christ's close family gave him much joy throughout the years. He was a proud father of his children. The joy of being a grandfather and great grandfather filled his heart. Their conversations with Grandpa were personal and meaningful as he was deeply interested in their lives. Each of the children were special and he loved being called "Papa."

The Jaeger Farm south of Fillmore ND was home and continued to be the place where his heart was at home. His hard work went into building the family farm for future generations of Jaegers. He knew the farm was left well cared for. He was a good steward of the land by preserving the integrity, stability, and beauty of the land.

Christ served as a Director of the ND Farm Credit Services for a total of twenty-one consecutive years. He also served on the Benson County Social Services Board and many area Elevator and Cooperative Boards.

He was proceeded into eternal life by his parents and twelve siblings: brothers Joe, Louie, John, and Jerome. Sisters, Lena, Monica, Sister Bernadette, OSF, Barbara, Anne, Margaret, Theresa and Irene; wife, Ardys and grandson, Corbin.

He is survived by his six children: Larry (Amy) Jaeger, Ruth (Albert Kramer) Jaeger, Carrie (Rick) Odden, Roger (Debby) Jaeger, Gerald (Christie) Jaeger, Audrey (Robert Sandruck) Jaeger, grandchildren Jackson (Katharine), Jeremy, Chad (Shannon), Tara, Blake, Tyler (Samantha), Hailey, Carter, Randi, Cole, Amber (Maxfield), Seth, Zach, Grace and Maeve; great grandchildren Landon, Gus, Lily, Hadley, Harlow, Knox, Lennox, Decker, and Bryer;  many nephews and nieces; Sisters-in-law Ann Jaeger, Lena Jaeger, and brother-in-law, Jack Igers.

Christ's presence in our lives will be greatly missed and we hold our memories close to our hearts.
