Curtis D. Martin, 68, Kief, North Dakota passed away Monday, September 11, 2023 at his home.  Private family services will be held at Nelson Funeral Home, Drake, North Dakota.  Burial will take place at a later date in the Kief Cemetery.  Visitation for the public will be from 3:00-6:00 p.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the funeral home.

Curtis Dean Martin was born May 6, 1955 in Minot, North Dakota, the son of Bennie and Arlean (Knodel) Martin.  He was raised on the family farm and attended school where he was active in football and FFA, graduating from Drake High School in 1973.  Curtis attended college at NDSCS in Wahpeton, North Dakota for small engine repair.  He also worked at Sears in Bismarck before moving to the Knodel farm to do small engine repair for friends and neighbors.  Curtis enjoyed hunting, fishing, and auction sales.

Curtis is survived by his loving mother, Arlean Martin, sisters Jean (Scott) Hagen, and Julie (Gary) Kohler, nieces and nephews, Trevor (Aaron) Kohler, Ashley (Tim) Rath, Marcie (Michael) Krueger, Mark (Theresa) Romani, and Jee Eagay (Eh Kmwee), great nieces and nephew, Morgan, Teegan, Valkyrie, and Parker, aunts and uncle, Gary and Arlinda Knodel and Jeanette Martin, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bennie Martin, grandparents, brother-in-law, Joe Romani, cousins, Clinton Dessenko and John Martin, and aunts and uncles.
