Dwight A. Delzer, 73, Fessenden, North Dakota passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at St. Aloisius Medical Center, Harvey, North Dakota.  Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am, Monday, August 7, 2023 at First Lutheran Church, Fessenden, North Dakota.  Pastor Shirley Teske will officiate and burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Fessenden, North Dakota.  Visitation will be Sunday, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden, North Dakota and one hour prior to services at the church.

Dwight Allen Delzer was born September 18, 1949, to Warren and Muriel (Rogelstad) Delzer, in Harvey, North Dakota.  He attended school in Fessenden and later Aircraft school in Fargo.  He then moved back to Fessenden where he was manager of Farmers Union Oil for many years before starting at Fessenden Co-op where he retired in March of 2018.

After retirement, Dwight continued to help others with odds and ends.  He was always willing to help with anything.  Dwight had a great personality and greeted everyone with a smile and a handshake.  He loved to joke around with family and friends.

He was once married to Judy Bettenhausen in Fessenden where they welcomed son David and daughter Ashley.  He was then married to the love of his life Twyla, who passed away in February of 2012.

Dwight is survived by his mother, Muriel, Harvey, ND; son David Delzer, Minot, ND; daughter Ashley Delzer, Bismarck, ND; step-daughters Yolanda Gray (Ronnie), Fessenden, ND, Georgianna Laber, Fargo, ND, and Sara (Travis) Schlauderaff, Fessenden, ND; step-son, Joseph (Larissa) Laber, Fessenden, ND; brother, Craig (Marilyn) Delzer, Fessenden, ND; 21 grandchildren, Benjamin, Alexander, Heaven, Travis, Renesmee, Jonathan, Mercedes, Twyla, Dominic, Gemma, Gabriella, Dalton, Dawson, Conner, Carter, Camdyn, Crimson, Raelynn, Jayce, Kalijah, and Greyson, two great-grandchildren, Kinslee and Paisley, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Twyla, father Warren and grandson Christian.
