Elaine Cowles, 89, Mesa, AZ, formerly of Drake, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements with Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home of Drake.
Elaine Eichhorn, daughter of John and Bessie Eichhorn, was born February 29, 1929. She grew up in Drake, ND.
On February 25, 1948, she was united in marriage to Gordon McQuay. They made their home in Kenmare until 1963 when they moved to Drake. Following their retirement, they spent their summer months at Lake Metigoshe and wintered in Mesa, AZ. Gordon passed away March 27, 1995.
On May 31, 1998, Elaine married Jack Cowles. They have resided in Mesa, AZ since 2013.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Jack; her daughters, Linda (Ron) Ziegler of Drake, Judy (Dennis) Blankenship of Alabaster, AL and Nancy (Carl) Haugen of Carson City, NV; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a sister, Lucille Cowell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon and her daughter, Bonnie McQuay.
