Obituary

Eleanor Zainhofsky Ehni, 81, Fessenden, ND passed away Friday, June 4, 2021 at St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey, ND.  Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM  Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Fessenden, with Fr. Brian Bachmeier officiating.  Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, Fessenden.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 with a rosary at 7:00 PM followed by the Vigil Service at the church.  Arrangements with Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden, ND.

Eleanor Zainhofsky Ehni was born on June 24, 1939 to Lorenz and Elizabeth (Voiller) Heilman.  She grew up on the farm near Wellsburg, North Dakota and attended country school.  She married Tony Zainhofsky on November 23, 1959.  Tony passed away on April 18, 1982.  She married Ellery Ehni on January 7, 1995.  Eleanor was a bartender for several years.  She also worked in the Wells County Treasurer's office.  She loved holidays with her family, her yard and flowers, and sitting on her deck.  She also enjoyed traveling, dancing and dining out.  In the past few years, she loved visiting with her neighbor and dear friend, Judy Muscha.

Eleanor is survived by daughters, Jacinta Zainhofsky, Roxanne (Chuck) Roller, Elaine (Dwight) Hornbacher, and son, Blaine Zainhofsky, grandchildren Crystal (Josh) Harkness, Kyla Hornbacher (Jake Hoffert), Blake (Desi) Roller, Madison Zainhofsky and great children Tucker Hoffert and Celty Harkness, sisters Lillian Kraft, Anna Rose West, Lorraine Klautt, and Margie Teeters, step children Cindy Ehni, Skeet Ehni, Kim (Ron) Opp, Karen (Rich) Turner, Jeanne (Kurt) Rudel, Dawn (Steve) Morcomb, Kay (Brad) Brown, Kathy (Dan) Loegering, Tic (Angie) Ehni, and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Tony Zainhofsky, husband Ellery Ehni, brothers Henry, Lawrence and Edwin, sisters Lena Vetsch, Isabelle Vetsch, Irene Beedy, Angela Held, Arlene Selzer, Ruth Dosch, Viola Heilman, daughter-in-law Diane Zainhofsky and grandson Calvin Hornbacher.
