Emanuel 'Manny' Kesler, 88, Aberdeen, SD, formerly of Anamoose, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in an Aberdeen Care Center.
Emanuel 'Manny' Kesler, son of Frank and Mary (Schneider) Kesler, was born September 25, 1928 in Orrin, ND. He was raised in Orrin, Willow City and Drake and received his education in Willow City, ND. As a young man, Emanuel served his country in the United States Army.
On September 24, 1951, he was married to Angeline Cartwright in Anamoose, ND. They made their home in New Jersey for a time before returning to North Dakota and settling in Harvey where Emanuel was employed as a plumber with Moser Plumbing. They then moved to Horace, ND where he worked for Robert Gibb and Sons until his retirement. In 1992 they moved to Anamoose, ND where they lived for 24 years. They had resided in South Dakota since 2015.
Emanuel was member of St. Francis-Xavier Catholic Church of Anamoose, ND.
He enjoyed hunting, horses, Studebakers, restoring old cars, watching westerns and doing puzzles. He especially loved spending time with his children and their families.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Angeline; 6 children, Blanche (Terry) Cossette of Mukilteo, WA, Douglas (Katherine) of West Fargo, ND, Cynthia (Louis) Rheault of Goddard, KS, Blain (Jill) of Fargo, ND, Scott (Gigi) of Hotchkiss, CO and Lynette (Jerome) Mack of Leola, SD;14 grandchildren, Jenny, Josh, Misty, Chris, Ellie, Matt, Charles, Tanya, Lynsey, Dawn, JR, Tim, Aren and Nick; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard and Eddie; sister, Ann; and granddaughter, Elizabeth.
Funeral: Monday, November 14, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis-Xavier Catholic Church in Anamoose with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation: Sunday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. followed by a 7 pm. prayer service at the church.
