Florence Remboldt, 91, Mandan, formerly of rural Bowdon, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020 at Miller Pointe care center in Mandan. Her funeral will be held Thursday, July 16 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bowdon Country Seventh-day Adventist Church at rural Bowdon with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, CDC recommendations for social distancing are encouraged.
Florence Martin, daughter of John and Mary (Grabatin) Martin, was born September 2, 1928 at New Leipzig, ND. The family moved to a farm south of Harvey, ND in 1934 where Florence grew up and attended a nearby country school.
Florence married Norman Remboldt at Bowdon on November 28, 1948. They were married for 70 years and resided on a farm south of Bowdon.
Florence was an active member of the Bowdon Country Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed singing duets with Norman for church and community activities. Florence was known in the Bowdon community for her cooking of German Russian food, especially her cheese buttons. She enjoyed baking, sewing and gardening. Florence sewed many burp cloths for newborns at the local hospitals.
Florence will be greatly missed by her daughters, Candace (Valgene) Kreiter, Heaton, Carmen (Dale) McManus, Carrington and Camie (Derrick) MacIntosh, Omaha, NE; 6 grandchildren: Travis (Maria) Kreiter, Lincoln, NE, Nathan (Kristen) Kreiter, Bismarck, Mitchell (Martha) Hornung, Lincoln, NE, Caleb (Brandi) Hornung, Willmar, MN and Abigail & Allison MacIntosh, Omaha, NE; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great grandchild; brother Roland (Judy) Martin; sister Ruth Martin Boyd; sister-in-law Carol Martin, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary; her husband Norman Remboldt;and siblings, Emma Martin, Bertha Martin Hirschkorn, Emanuel Martin, Art Martin, Ereth Martin, Laura Martin, Benny Martin, Lydia Martin Wiege, Anetha Martin Anhorn, Esther Martin Remboldt, and Ruben Martin.
