Frank Pister, 93, rural Kief, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at his home near Kief.

Frank Pister, son of George and Rosa (Shock) Pister, was born August 17, 1926 on the Pister family farm southwest of Kief. He attended a nearby country school and the Kief Public School. With the exception of his time served in the United States Army during WWII, Frank lived his entire life on the farm where he was born and passed away. He began farming with his father at an early age and later took over the farm operation.

On July 16, 1952, Frank was united in marriage to Agnes Haux in McClusky. Together they continued farming and raising their dairy cattle. Following Agnes's death in 1986, Frank remained involved in the family farm, helping his son John wherever he was need.

Frank especially loved his family and spending time with them. He also truly loved his land and life on the farm. He was perfectly content to remain on the farm or close to it, and stated that he had done all the traveling he cared to while serving in the army.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Lawrence E. Meidl American Legion Post #270 of Butte. He served several years on the Strasburg Township Board.

He is survived by his loving companion, Marlene Dahlin; his 5 children, John Pister of rural Kief, Corliss (Dave) Haugen of rural Kief, Roxanne (Ted) Selzler of Velva, Pam (Noel) Podoll of Velva and Deb (Keith) Olson of Harvey; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes; his daughter, Lori Ann Pister; his daughter-in-law, Aimee` Pister; his son-in-law, Roger Lakoduk; his parents; and his siblings, Anne, Otto, Lydia, Elizabeth, Ted, Ida, George, Faith and Ella.

Funeral: Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Butte.

Visitation: Friday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Drake.

Burial: Kief Cemetery in Kief, ND.
