Gary Lee Pellett, 69, Mesa, Az, formerly of Fessenden, passed away February 4, 2015 in Mesa. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Fessenden with burial in the Hillside Cemetery of Fessenden. Arrangements with Nelson Funeral Home of Fessenden.
Gary Pellett, son of Harold and Sally (Fossum) Pellett, was born September 23, 1945 in Harvey, ND. He was raised and educated in Fessenden, graduating from Fessenden High School. He then attended Minot State College,
Gary was married to Cheryl LaCoe on July 16, 1964 in Fessenden. They made their home in Fessenden where Gary worked for Great Plains Supply until June of 1969 when the family moved to Colorado. Gary worked in the lumber and building industry, drove truck over 3 million accident free miles for Edson Express, Beco and as an owner-operator.
Gary loved children and the Lord, enjoying 20 years as a BSF Discussion Leader and Assitant CA, a Webelo Leader (with sons Jim and Mike), 15 years as a Sunday School teacher, and Bible Bowl for 6 years. He loved other hobbies such as Classic Cars, Motorcylce Touring, and a special dog Zoey, his constant companion.
Gary's life was devoted to loving and caring for his family. He did it well.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cheryl; sons, Jim (Janelle) and Mike (Tonya) of Colorado; daughter, Marci (Jim) of North Dakota; grandchildren, Andrew (Ande), Matthew (Lindsay), Leevi, Michaiah, Darren, Derek, Courtney, Cody (Val), Caleb, Joshua, Ahren and Maren; great-grandchildren, Sariah, William, Malachi and Hannah; sister, Gloria ; brothers, Curt (Dianne), Ken and Doug (Sheryl); aunts, Doris Fortney and Helen Fossum; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Sal; sister, Shirley and grandson, Ryan James Gwyn.
