Obituary

Genevieve Dorothy Keson, 99, rural Harvey, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the Heart of America Hospital in Rugby. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Manfred Seventh-day Adventist Church of rural Manfred with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 pm to 6 pm at the Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden.

Genevieve Miller, daughter of Alex and Mollie (Deede) Miller, was born July 31, 1915 at rural Manfred where she was raised and attended country school.

On September 30, 1935 she was married to Erven Keson at rural Manfred. They farmed with Erven's parents until 1938 when they purchased a farm eight miles west of Fessenden. In 1976, following their retirement, they moved to rural Harvey where Genevieve had resided until recently moving to Rugby. Erven passed away May 23, 1982.

Genevieve was a lifelong member of the Manfred Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Arlys Keson and special friend Mark Halvorson of rural Manfred; 2 grandchildren, Mindy Detling and Monty McKinven; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Dale (Darlene) Miller of Harvey and Roger (Joyce) Miller of Warrenton, OR.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her son, Ardean; and two sisters, Lorna and infant Darlene.
