Gertrude E. Johnson, 89, Bismarck, formerly of Bowdon, ND passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Sanford Medical Center, Bismarck.  Graveside services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Hillside Cemetery, Fessenden, ND.  Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden, ND.

Gertrude Elizabeth Liedtke was born March 10, 1932 at Emrick, ND, the daughter of William and Elsie (Neuman) Liedtke.  She grew up and attended school in Emrick until the 7 ^th grade when the family moved to Fessenden in 1943.  Gertrude graduated from Fessenden High School in 1950.  She married James Johnson on March 31, 1951 in Fessenden and they farmed near Bowdon.  Gertrude moved to Harvey in the fall of 1982 and later moved to Bismarck where she worked at the Missouri Slope Care Center.

Gertrude is survived by her children, Renee (Daryl) Schuh, Hurdsfield, ND, Peggy White, Mandan, ND, Carla Johnson, Phoenix, AZ, Bruce (Desiree) Johnson, Bismarck, and Brian (Lisa) Johnson, Bismarck, a sister, Ann Eckart, Mandan, ND, grandchildren Tina (Duane) Daniels, Tammy (Marcus) Green, Mandi (ChucK) Berger, Eric (Brandi) White, Samantha White, Sheena (Kip) Kambeitz, Jesse (Krista) Johnson, Tony Thompson, Dusty (Ivy) Johnson, Jazzie Johnson,  Great-Grandchildren Morgan, McKinley, Kristie, Skye, Cady, Zakary, Kholten, Kenyatta, Kaylee, Ava, Jace, Macy, Mela, great-great-grandchildren Amelia, Marshall.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Harold and Jim Liedtke.
