Glen Smith, 91, Fessenden, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at his home in Fessenden. His funeral will be held Tuesday, December 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home with burial at the Hillside Cemetery in Fessenden. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Glen Smith, son of Clarence and Bertha (Hollen) Smith, was born November 18, 1925 at Devils Lake, ND. He lived most of his life in Fessenden with his father and step-mother Esther Krueger Smith. Glen became a resident of the 4th Corporation group home facility in Fessenden on September 15, 1991, where he had resided since.

Glen was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Fessenden.

He loved birds, sorting & organizing his papers, watching the Lawrence Welk Show, attending parades, and going for rides around Fessenden. Glen also enjoyed visiting his father's grave site where he would tidy things up a bit and spend some quiet time with his 'Papa'. Glen thoroughly enjoyed his 90th birthday party which was organized by the 4th Corporation staff and attended by housemates, staff members and the community.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Esther.

He is survived by cousins and his house mates.
