Harriet Mielke, 101, Hurdsfield, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 in Nashville, TN. Her funeral will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden with burial at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hurdsfield.

Harriet Hanson, daughter of Hans and Emma (Erickson) Hanson, was born March 18, 1915 on her parents farm near Bowdon. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural schools and later the Bowdon Public School.

In October of 1936 she was married to Edward Mielke in Bismarck. They made their home in the Hurdsfield area and, in addition to helping her husband with their farming operation, Harriet worked as a bookkeeper at the local elevator for several years. Mr. Mielke passed away in 1966.

She was a member of the Hurdsfield Lutheran Church.

Harriet is survived by her daughters, Joycelynn Pylant of Nashville, TN and Marlene (Frank) Muckenhirn of Delano, MN; son, Nayland (Karen) Mielke of Las Vegas, NV; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; 2 brothers and 2 sisters
