Irene Seil, Fargo, ND, formerly Sykeston, ND, died Monday, July 31, 2017 at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, ND.
Irene Kunz was born October 5, 1930 in Heaton, ND, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Osmon) Kunz. She grew up and attended school in Sykeston. On June 6, 1949, she married Frank Seil, and they lived and farmed near Heaton until 1977. At that time, they moved to Sykeston and continued farming. Frank passed away on June 30, 1993. Irene later moved to Fargo in 2014.
Irene took great pride in her family and loved spending time with them, and they with her. From teaching the kids the art of cooking, to mastering a good card game, she loved every minute. She enjoyed living and working on the farm, cooking, baking, and gardening. Irene was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and always had great food and fun times to offer all who stopped by. Irene also enjoyed working out of her home, while owning/operating D & J Truck Stop in Sykeston, ND. She loved making her delicious pies and sweet treats, as well as home cooked meals for the community. One of the many joys in her life was playing bingo with many special neighbors, friends, and family. Irene was an active member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church throughout her years of living in the area.
She is survived by her children Charles (Cheryl) Seil of Heaton, ND, Gerald (Mary) Seil of Bismarck, ND, Donna (Carl) Sinner of Fargo, ND, and Jeanette Lindsay of Fargo, ND, 9 grandchildren; Jeremy Seil, Jennifer (Dustin) Workman, Charles (Liz) Seil, Jr., Brian (Melinda) Seil, Dana Seil, Shanley Seil, Jessica Schander, Dustin Schander and Jason Lavanger; 5 great- grandchildren; Shania Grager, Peyton Seil, Londyn Seil, James Seil and Evelyn Seil; 2 brothers, Robert (Judy) Kunz, Bullhead City, AZ and Charles (Connie) Kunz, Fessenden, ND; 1 sister, Bonnie Remboldt, Clitherall, MN; 1 sister-in-law, Joan (Seil) Kahl, Carrington, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; parents, Charles and Anna Kunz; her sisters, Alice Jesse and Leona Hogie; and her brothers, Lawrence Kunz and Gordon Kunz.
