Jacqualine Richter, 73, of Drake, ND, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Trinity Hospital in Minot. Her service will be held Friday, October 21st at 11:00 A. M. at the City Hall in Drake with burial in the Drake City Cemetery Veterans Plot. Arrangements are with Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home of Drake.
Jacqualine Sue Brubaker, daughter of David and Maude (Thomas) Brubaker was born on December 17, 1942 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from George Washington High School in Cedar Rapids.
Following high school she worked for a radio manufacturer and pursued a degree in nursing. She was married and had two children with David Stookey. On July 3, 1965 she married Kenneth Richter in Omaha NE. In May of 1966 they moved to the Drake area and made their home on the Richter family farm where they farmed, ranched, operated a dairy business and raised their family. In 2003 they moved into Drake.
After her children left the nest she returned to the work force as a CNA, first in Rugby and then in Velva. She remained active in the Drake City Council, the School library, Meals on Wheels, the Senior Center and many other community activities.
Jackie had a passion for Vikings football, reading, gardening, and her cat. She was a special person who was a joy to be around. She found a good match in Kenneth.
She is survived by her children: Cheryl (Dale Waldroupe. Sr.) Manning of Casey Iowa, Curt Stookey of Galveston TX, Daniel (Joyce Hanson) Richter of Fargo, Kenneth Richter Jr.of rural Drake, Michelle (Aaron Engle) Richter of Minneapolis, MN, and Michael Richter of Fargo: 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great grandchildren. Jacqualine was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her two brothers Dick and Billy.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to breast cancer research.
