Jeanne Flick, 84, formerly Manfred, ND passed away peacefully from natural causes May 5, 2020 in Trinity Nursing Home, Minot, ND. A private service will be held Friday, May 8, at 11:00 A. M. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden. This service will be livestreamed on www.facebook.com/groups/352440698439276/ . Burial will follow at Vang Lutheran Cemetery of Manfred. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 7, from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. at Nelson Funeral Home with CDC recommended restrictions followed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Jeanne Esther McBain, daughter of Henry and Margaret (Janssen) McBain, was born December 13, 1935 on the family farm near Fessenden, ND. She graduated from Fessenden High School in 1954 and began working for the ASCS Office in Fessenden.

On January 21, 1955 she married Edgar A. Flick. They made their home 3 miles north of Manfred where they raised their five children, Randy, Ardis, Myrna, Linda and Corey. In 1969 she returned to work at the ASCS Office where she continued to work until retiring in 1994.

Jeanne had a green thumb and loved her flower gardens and indoor plants. She enjoyed embroidery work, crocheting afghans and doilies and made too many to count. She was also an excellent cook and baker. She was a longtime member of the Vang Lutheran Church in Manfred where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Ladies Aid.

Upon retiring, Jeanne and Edgar spent many winters in Apache Junction, AZ. In 2013 Edgar and Jeanne moved to Minot, ND and in September of 2018 Jeanne entered Trinity Nursing Home.

Jeanne is survived by Edgar, her husband of 65 years; her children, Ardis Zerr, Bismarck, Myrna Flick, Frisco, TX, Linda Letnes, Fargo and Corey (JoAnn) Flick of Minot. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Allen Zerr and Justin (Trista) Zerr of Harvey, Carla Zerr (Josh Herb) of Bismarck, Joshua (Nia) Beilke of Corinth, TX, Chelsey, Taylor and Hannah Letnes of Fargo, Levi (Kelsey) Flick and Mitchel (Gabi Boeckel) Flick of Minot, and Andrew (Devan) Flick of Madison, WI;11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronnie McBain, Fessenden and Dale (Wendy) McBain, Mounds View, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her son, Randy; her parents Margaret & Henry; her brothers, Roger McBain, Harris McBain and Paul Delbert McBain; two half-brothers Bernard McBain and Jim McBain; and a special uncle, Paul Janssen.
