Joel Ellsworth Wold, 83, of Mesa, AZ, formerly of the Juanita, ND area, passed away June 24, 2013 at Mesa. A grave side service will be held Friday, August 16, at 10:00 a.m. at the Heaton Cemetery of Heaton, ND. Arrangements with Nelson Funeral Home of Fessenden.

Joel Ellsworth Wold, son of Clarence and Mary (Merchant) Wold, was born May 9, 1930 at Juanita, ND. Ellsworth spent his younger years enjoying the things that go with living in a small town. In 1950 he joined the U. S. Navy spending four years in service. In 1952 he was married to Beth Rypka and to this union three children were born, Kathlene, Betty and Joel. Beth preceded him in death in 2001. After her death he met and married Dianne Smith in September 2003. With this marriage he gained two step-children Monica Miller and Eddie Hendricks. He also leaves behind five grand children Tracey Harding, Theresa Thomas, Adriene Donaldson, Duane Wold and Dustin Olson. He also has six great grandchildren.
