Judith J. "Judy" Neumann, 78, Fessenden, North Dakota, passed away at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey, North Dakota on Sunday, September 24, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the First Lutheran Church in Fessenden, North Dakota.   Pastor Shirley Teske will officiate and burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Fessenden. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, September 29th at Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden, North Dakota and one hour prior to services at the church.

Judith Jean (McIntosh) Neumann was born June 4, 1945 at Rolla, ND to Angus (Tony) McIntosh and Julia (Odden) McIntosh. Judy moved from Sarles, ND to Fessenden when she was 15 and graduated from the Fessenden High School in 1964.  Judy married Wallace A. Neumann on February 21, 1965.  They lived in rural Manfred and then moved to Fessenden in 1975 where they have resided since.

Judy enjoyed collecting and selling antiques and spent several years searching for the perfect pieces.  She owned and operated Neumann's Shop and The Corner Drive In located in Fessenden for many years.  She was also very passionate about making sure local kids had something to do so she helped run the Teen Canteen on main street in Fessenden which gave kids a place to hang out.

Judy was the past President of the Fessenden Civic and Commerce and also was the President of the Fessenden Bi-Centennial Celebration.

Judy was a kind soul with a generous heart.  She loved her family more than anything.  She spent time looking at Facebook and staying current on what her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were doing.  She enjoyed talking on the phone with family and she always made each family member feel special.  She will be greatly missed.

Judy is survived by her husband Wally.  Children:  LaRae (Monty) McKinven, Onawa, IA; Melody (Scott) Schmitz, Fessenden, ND; and Casey (Gena) Neumann, Bismarck, ND.  Grandchildren:  Keaton McKinven, Alma, KS; Brittany (David) Miller, Onawa, IA; Katlin (Tera) McKinven, Sioux City, IA;  Brandon and Sheldon Schmitz, Fessenden; Emily Schmitz, Grand Forks; Jade (Tyler) Scherr, Bismarck and Brock Neumann, Bismarck.  Great Grandchildren:  Kerrington, Kota and Charolette McKinven;  Emery, Dawson and soon to be born baby boy Scherr.  Bella & Max McKinven, Dax & Charlie Miller.  Sisters:  Marcella (Jerry) Frye, JoAnn Maxwell, Kathy (Tim) Hoffart, Shirley (Rodney) Boelke;  Brothers:  Ronald Paul (Brenda) McIntosh & David (Penelope) McIntosh.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Judy was proceeded in death by her Grandson Alexander Neumann, parents, mother & father in-law, brother Jerry and her best friend Sharon Kramer.
