June Rost, 95, Fessenden, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey. Her funeral will be held Saturday, November 3, at 10:30 A. M. at the First Lutheran Church in Fessenden with burial at the Hillside Cemetery of Fessenden. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Arrangements with Nelson Funeral Home of Fessenden.

June Severson, daughter of August and Rebecca (Hotchkiss) Severson, was born March 14, 1923 at Fessenden, where she was raised and educated, graduating from Fessenden High School in 1941. While attending Fessenden Public School, June was active in tumbling and kittenball.

On September 18, 1942, June was united in marriage to Eldore Rost in Louisville, KT. They made their home on the Rost family farm north of Cathay until moving into Cathay in 1957. She worked as a Clerk at the Cathay Post Office for a number of years. Following Eldore's death in 1986, June remained in Cathay until moving to Fessenden in 1994. She had been a resident of the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey since September of 2014.

June was a member of the Royal neighbors and was active in the Cathay community, serving on the school board and city council.

She is survived by her sons, Keith (Janice) of rural Cathay, Michael (Pam) of rural Harvey, Randy (Carla) of Rolette and Robin (Vera) of Cathay; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

June was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a grandson, Scott; and her siblings, Blanche Martin, Robert, Donald, Elmer, George, Harold, Faye Lenz and Fern Gunderson.
