Obituary

Katheryn Schneider, Harvey, formerly of rural Anamoose, passed away peacefully on her 83rd birthday, on Saturday, February 28, 2015 in Scottsdale, AZ with her daughters and granddaughter at her side.

Katheryn C. (Keller) Schneider, daughter of Philip and Margareta (Voeller) Keller was born at rural Selz, North Dakota on February 28, 1932.

Katheryn grew up with her siblings on her parents farm at rural Selz and received her education in a nearby country school. On November 6, 1950 she was married to Pius Schneider at Selz. They made their home, farmed, and raised 6 children north of Anamoose, ND. Katheryn loved to garden, cook, and bake for her family and friends. She was dearly independent, kind, and faithful. She was as comfortable hauling grain, delivering calves or raking hay as she was preparing fabulous meals or wrangling six children. After her children grew up, she enjoyed spending time and teaching her grandchildren to garden, put up preserves as well as how to position a truckload of wheat centered perfectly over the auger. Katheryn encouraged independence, strength, and compassion. The variety of destinations and careers her children and grandchildren have pursued testifies to her success as a mother, grandmother, & mentor. After the passing of her beloved husband Pius in 2006, she moved to Harvey, ND.

Katheryn is survived by her six children, 2 sons, Jeffery (Lori) of Marine, MN and Donald, a resident of the Marian Manor Care Center in Glen Ullin, ND; 4 daughters, Constance Schneider of Maui, HI, Sandy Schneider-Hasting (Mark) of Tucson, AZ, Debbie Schneider of Scottsdale, AZ, and Patricia Schneider-Owers (David) of Vancouver, BC; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Cornelius (Regina) of Harvey and Joe (Lena) of Harvey; 1 sister Lena Fettig of Harvey, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; 1 brother, Pius; and 2 sisters, Rose Voeller and Lizzie Heisler.
