Kathy Kessler, 70, Fessenden, passed away peacefully Monday, May 6, 2013 at her home in Fessenden, surrounded by her family.
Kathleen Albers, daughter of Emil and Irene (Dolan) Albers, was born November 5, 1942 at Hazen where she grew up and attended school, graduating from Hazen High School in 1960. She then worked as a dental assistant for several years in Hazen and later in Bismarck.
On August 24, 1963 she was married to Norman Kessler at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Hazen. They lived in Beulah and later Bismarck before moving to Fessenden in 1967. Kathy stayed home to raise her six children and once they were all in school she worked as a Para at the Fessenden Public School from 1981 to 2003.
With respect to her wishes, Kathy's family will not elaborate on the wonderful life she lived, but simply say that all who knew her were blessed beyond measure.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Norman; her six children and their families, Charles (Gwen) Kessler of West Fargo and their daughters, McKenzie & fiancee- Phillip and Charlsey; Melessa (Brad) Bosch of Minot and their children, Braden & fiancee-Morgan and their son, Branson, and Nateal and Broderick; Tom (Luanne) Kessler of Appleton, MN and their children, Alexis, Kellen, Jaydah and Kayden; Lori Jo (Craig) Demester of New Rockford and their children, Kathleen, Ahna, Kennedy and Jax; Karen (Rob) Woodbury of Bismarck and their children, Maggie, Keagen and Jetta; and Mary (Trevor) Wick of Woodworth and their children, Rylen and Harper Rose; two sisters, Colletta (Robert) Stroup II of Fargo and Audrey Erickson of Beulah; step mother-in-law, Alice Kessler of Beulah; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Presley Demester; one sister, Rosetta Weigum; father and mother-in-law, Otto and Phyllis Kessler; brother-in-law, Delmar Erickson; and nephew, Jeff Erickson.
Funeral Mass: Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Fessenden.
Visitation: Wednesday from 2 pm to 6 pm at the church.
Prayer service: Wednesday evening at 7 pm at the church.
Burial: Hillside Cemetery of Fessenden.
