Larry L Krueger's Obituary
Larry Krueger, 70, passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 in his home at rural Manfred.
Larry Lee Krueger, son of David and Edna (Gross) Krueger, was born April 5, 1946 at Harvey. He grew up on the family farm south of Manfred and attended the Bowman Consolidated School of rural Bowdon. He then attended Fessenden High School, graduating in 1964. Following his graduation, Larry worked for area farmers and for the Wells County Soil Conservation Service until entering the United States Army in September of 1966. He served his country during the Vietnam War and, upon receiving his honorable discharge, returned home.
In 1970 Larry was united in marriage to Sheila Berg. They made their home on the Krueger family farm where Larry has continued to farm and raise cattle. Sheila passed away March 18, 1999.
Larry was one of Fessenden's most loyal sports fans. In his earlier years he enjoyed playing softball and refereed many basketball and football games. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.
Larry was active in community affairs, serving on the Fessenden Co-op Elevator for twenty eight years, the West Ontario Township Board for many years and the Fessenden-Bowdon Booster Club Gaming Committee for a number of years. He was also a member of the Frank Proisl American Legion Post #33 of Fessenden.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Steve) Moe of New Richmond, WI; his son, Dan (Kristin) Krueger of Appomattox, VA; 6 grandchildren, Danielle, Benjamin, Jillian, Isaac, Samuel and Peyton; his loving companion, Donna Wipf of Fessenden; 4 sisters, Marlene Nelson of Olympia, WA, Karen (Myron) Proefrock of Littelton, NC, Bonnie (Dave) Bina of Monument, CO and Renee (Dick) Haroldson of Loretto, MN and 2 brothers, Gerald (Connie) Krueger of Olathe, KS and Gordon (Mary) Krueger of Ft. Worth, TX.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila; his parents and his brother, Keith.
Funeral: Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Fessenden.
Visitation: Friday from 3 pm to 5 pm at the Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden.
Burial: Hillside Cemetery in Fessenden.
