Lee G. Delger, 78, Bowdon, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the Carrington Hospital in Carrington.
Lee George Delger, son of Harold and Eleanor (Peterson) Delger, was born October 7, 1937 at Bowdon. He grew up in Bowdon and attended Bowdon Public School, graduating in 1956.
For many years, Lee worked at the Bowdon Café which was owned by his parents, and later took over the operation of the café. In addition to working at the café, he was also employed with Taylor Propane Company of Bowdon, the local grain elevator for a number of years and several area farmers.
He was involved in community affairs as a member of the Bowdon Volunteer Fire Department, the Bowdon Ambulance Squad and the Bowdon Lion Club.
Lee loved to hunt deer and search for deer sheds. He also enjoyed playing cards, watching sports and horse racing.
He is survived by his brother, Lynn (Lila) Delger of Bismarck; 3 sisters, Berty (Gerald) Klocke of Carrington, Betty Mertz of Bismarck and Becky Hagseth of Robinson; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Larry; one sister, Bonnie Kliem; and 3 brothers-in-law, Roy Kliem, John Mertz and Ralph Hagseth.
Funeral: Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bowdon Lutheran Church in Bowdon.
Visitation: Monday from 3 p. m. to 6 p. m. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden
Burial: Peterson Family Cemetery in Bowdon.
