Lenore Benson, 61, Heimdal, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 at her home in Heimdal. Our God received a very special angel on Sunday when Lenore left us.

Lenore Kathleen Leonard was born December 2, 1957 in Tacoma, WA to Robert and June (Cooley) Leonard. She was raised and educated in the Tacoma area, graduating from Lakewood High School. She then enrolled at the Knapp College of Business in Tacoma and, upon completing the course, was employed with AAA for several years before accepting a secretarial position with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department where she worked for 16 years.

In January of 1992, Lenore was united in marriage to Curtis Benson in Tacoma. They remained in Tacoma until 1999 when they moved to Heimdal, ND. Lenore had been employed with the Herald-Press in Harvey for a number of years before recently accepting a position with HAV-IT Services of Harvey.

She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Curtis of Heimdal and her sister, Janet (George) Andreas of Eastern Washington.

Lenore was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jack.

Funeral: Monday, August 19, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church in Harvey.

Visitation: One hour before the service at the church on Monday.

Burial: Hoff Lutheran Cemetery of rural Heimdal.
