LeRoy Sabbe, 81, rural Harvey, died Friday, May 29, 2015 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey. To honor LeRoy's wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at the Bethania Lutheran Cemetery near Wellsburg. Arrangements with Nelson Funeral Home of Fessenden.

John LeRoy Sabbe, son of Spencer and Winifred (Hobbs) Sabbe, was born August 8, 1933 at Flora, ND. He attended schools at Flora and Maddock. As a young man he began working with his father on the family farm east of Maddock.

On September 8, 1953 , LeRoy was united in marriage to June Roberts at Oberon. They moved to a farm near Wellsburg where they resided for over fifty years.

He was a member of the Trinity Bethany Church in Harvey.

LeRoy is survived by his wife, June; 2 sons, Vance Sabbe of Brighton, CO and Vince (Kristy) Sabbe of rural Harvey; one daughter, Dr. Misty Sabbe of Bismarck; 2 grandchildren, Michael Walker of Arvada, CO and Carrie (Aaron) Opdahl of Fessenden; 5 great-grandchildren, Levi, Garin, Westin, Sterling and Natalie; one brother, Roger (Lorraine) Sabbe of Maddock; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by parents; grandparents; two brothers, Lyle and Dean Sabbe; sister-in-law, Fern Sabbe; brothers-in law, Oscar Olson and Paul Stack; and nephew Terry Sabbe.
