Loris Lavonne Nelson, 93, Albuquerque, formerly of Bowdon, ND, passed away May 5, 2018 at Albuquerque.

Loris Ingwaldson, daughter of Silas and Pearl (Peterson) Ingwaldson, was born September 1,1924 at Gary, IN. As a young child she lived in Gary before moving to nearby Chesterton, IN where she attended grade school. The family then moved to Bowdon, ND where they lived from 1928 to 1936, then returned to Chesterton where she finished her schooling through high school. She was confirmed in the Lutheran church in Chesterton after completing the bible teachings of confirmation.

Loris was married to George "Joe" Ross Nelson of Chesterton in September of 1944. They had one son Craig Allen Nelson. Following their marriage, Joe and Loris moved to and lived in Phoenix, AZ until moving to Kirtland, NM in 1961.

She was preceded in death by her husband George "Joe" Nelson; her father and mother, Silas and Pearl Ingwaldson and her brother Gene Ingwaldson.

She is survived by her son, Craig Nelson of Kirtland, NM, granddaughter Shamie Ayers, and great grandchildren, her brother Llewellyn 'Lew" and his wife Pearl Ingwaldson and many nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, May 15 at 10:30 A. M. at the Bowdon Lutheran Church in Bowdon, ND. Loris will be laid to rest in the Peterson Family Cemetery in Bowden next to her husband and parents. Arrangements with Nelson Funeral Home of Fessenden.
