Lydia Wipf, 90, of Jamestown, formerly of Bismarck and Bowdon, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Eventide at High-Acres nursing home in Jamestown.

Lydia Kleinsasser, daughter of Andrew and Lydia (Wollman) Kleinsasser was born February 26, 1923 on the family farm near Chaseley where she grew up and attended country school. On October 15, 1943 she was united in marriage to Paul Wipf at Bowdon. They made their home north of Bowdon where they farmed until retiring in 1973. They moved into Bowdon in 1978. Following Paul's death in 1991, Lydia continued to live in Bowdon until January of 1996 when she moved to Bismarck. She had recently moved to Jamestown.

Lydia was a member of the Bowdon Community Church of God and attended the First Baptist Church while she resided in Bismarck. She loved cooking, baking, canning, crafts, quilting, embroidering, working in the garden, making Afghans and scrubbies, and spending time at the Senior Center in Bismarck. Her greatest enjoyment later in life was her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Johnson, Jamestown, daughter-in-law Donna Wipf, Fessenden, granddaughter Nancy (Vincent) Clark, Aurora CO, grandson Jesse Wipf, San Francisco CA, granddaughter Kodi (Chad) Keller, Fessenden, two great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters, one sister Ruth (Glen) Pueppke, Erie ND, and two brothers Sam Kleinsasser, Chaseley and Eli (Nancy) Kleinsasser, Milwaukee OR.

She was preceeded in death by her husband Paul, son Lyle Wipf, daughter Peggy Wipf, son-in-law Joe Johnson, her parents, 4 sisters, Dora, Mary, Anna and Edna; and 6 brothers Paul, John, Andrew, Edwin, Dave A. and Matt.

Funeral: Saturday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bowdon Community Church of God in Bowdon.
Burial in the Wayside Cemetery of Bowdon.
Visitation: Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden.
