Marilyn Ruth McDaniel, 60, Spencer, Iowa, died Sunday, August 23,2015, after fighting a 3.4 year courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born May 4, 1955, to Darrell and Mary (Steinberger) Wrolstad at Sisseton, SD. She grew up in the Fessenden area and graduated from Fessenden High School in1973.

Marilyn married Ney McDaniel, Aug.28, 1981, at Raleigh, MS. To this union two children were born, daughter Kasey and son Brock. They moved to Spencer, IA in 1994 where Marilyn helped manage a kidney dialysis unit. Marilyn's life work as a RN was largely spent caring for dialysis patients and later as a traveling nurse at dialysis units.

She is survived by her husband Ney; daughter Kasey (Derek) Johnson, Denver, CO; son Brock, Spencer, IA; one granddaughter, Kinley Kay Johnson, her mother Mary, Fessenden; sister Janice (Terry) Krefting, Minot; brother Wayne (Angela) Wrolstad, Broomall, PA; 2 uncles, Harvey (Karen) Steinberger, Donnybrook, and Joseph (Maria) Steinberger, Indio, CA; 2 aunts, Gayle (Marvin) Brekhus, Webster, ND and Karen Steinberger, Minot; five nephews and nieces, Kirby, Kelby, TeriAnn, Jillian and Janine; and four great nephews and nieces, Garrett, Kieper, Karter, and Charlee. Also numerous cousins and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Darrell; her maternal grandparents, Leonard and Marie Steinberger; her paternal grandparents Helmer and Ruth Wrolstad, uncles Dennis Steinberger and Donald Wrolstad and aunt Erliss Swanson.

A graveside service will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Donnybrook on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 3:00 p. m. Local arrangements with Nelson Funeral Home of Fessenden
