Marvin Stotz, 79, Anamoose, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Sanford Health in Bismarck.

Marvin Stotz, son of William and Lenora (Frueh) Stotz, was born May 1, 1938 at Harvey. He lived most of his life on the original homestead settled by his grandfather in 1896. He attended Georgetown Country School through the 8th grade and graduated from Anamoose High School in 1956.

Marvin worked for the ND Highway Department on road construction crews during the summers of 1957 and 1958. He then farmed with his father from 1958 until 1969. At this time, Marvin took over the farm, retiring in 1983 but continued to raise cattle through 2014.

Marvin married Sally Kuntz on July 24, 1965 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Mott.

He worked at the Drake Coop Creamery from 1981 until 1989. In 1989 he began his meat cutting career at Ralph's Super Valu which later became Hinrich's Super Valu, where he worked until the present.

Marvin loved spending time with his family and visiting with people. He enjoyed raising cattle, making sausage, listening to polka music and was an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sally; 6 children, Diane (Gaylord) Hibl of Wahpeton, Donna (Kelly) Kohler of Bismarck, Claudia (Gary) Segura of Albuquerque, NM, Douglas (Melissa) Stotz of West Fargo, Duane Stotz of Anamoose and Rhonda (Kurt) Weninger of Drake; and 10 grandchildren.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, William & Lenora Stotz; his parents-in-law, Peter and Sadie Kuntz; his sister and brother-in-law, Janice & David Muscha, one infant brother, Arlo; and a nephew, Stacy Muscha.
