Mary Grauman, 90, Fessenden, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford. Her funeral will be held Monday, March 9, at 2:00 p.m. at the Concordia Lutheran Church of rural Fessenden with burial at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Nelson Funeral Home of Fessenden.

Mary Emma Kieper, daughter of Fred and Emma (Schultz) Kieper, was born October 29, 1924 in West Norway Township, north of Fessenden, where she was raised. She was baptized and confirmed at the Concordia Lutheran Church. Mary attended grade school at the Bloomington School District country school and graduated from Fessenden High School in 1942.

On November 23, 1942 she was married to Orville Ramstad. They made their home and farmed north of Fessenden until Orville's death on January 15, 1970.

Mary worked as District Clerk for the Wells County Soil Conservation District for thirteen and a half years.

On February 12, 1983 she was married to Leonard Grauman and they made their home in Fessenden. Leonard passed away January 18, 2013.

Mary was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church and the WELCA where she held many offices through the years, including president and treasurer.

Mary made an effort to remember all of her family's birthdays and anniversaries. She loved being outside and doing things that brought her closer to nature, such as cutting grass with her riding mower, helping out on the farm, or tending her garden and flowers.

She is survived by her daughter, Glendora Seefeld of Buckley, WA; 5 grandchildren, Christopher (Deanna) Seefeld, Lori Ann Seefeld, Craig Seefeld, Michelle Seefeld and Mary Turner; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Helen Hintz of Antigo, WI and Arlene Albrecht of Fessenden; brother-in-law, Everett Johnson of Heimdal; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, Orville and Leonard; her parents; 1 grandson; and 2 sisters, Margaret Grauman and Delores Johnson.
