Michael E. Vinton, 75, Drake, North Dakota passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at St. Aloisius Medical Center, Harvey, North Dakota.  Funeral Services will be at Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Anamoose, North Dakota.  Pastor Danelle Olson will officiate and burial will be in the Mennonite Brethren Cemetery, rural Sawyer, North Dakota at a later date.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM,  followed by a prayer service at 7:00 PM on ,Friday, January 21, 2022 at the United Community Baptist Church, Anamoose, North Dakota.  Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Home, Drake, North Dakota.  The funeral service will be livestreamed at https://youtu.be/GHDuvngZWH8

Michael (Mike) Edward Vinton went home to be with Jesus on January 16, 2022, after a long battle with several health issues over the last few years.  Mike was born August 1, 1946, the 2 ^nd of 13 children to Edward and Helen (Eisberner) Vinton of Eau Claire, WI.

He attended St. Olaf's Catholic Elementary school and Regis Catholic High School graduating in 1964. Shortly after graduation, Mike proudly served in the United States Air Force.  On Aug. 13, 1967, Mike married the love of his life Phyllis (Lang) Vinton, they made their home in Sawyer, ND until her passing in 1989.  On Sept. 22, 1990, Mike married the second love of his life Beverly (Lemer) Adam.  Mike and Beverly were married for 31 years.

Mike was a hard worker and entrepreneur and always encouraged his children and grandchildren with the same work ethic. He was an independent semi-truck owner and operator. His favorite route was going to the Piggly Wiggly stores in Minot.

In 1992, Mike and Beverly moved to Keystone, SD and bought their beloved Battle Creek Campground.  They spent endless hours creating wonderful family experiences for those wishing to see Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills of South Dakota.  Mike so enjoyed "sitting and shooting the bull" with campers throughout the years. Mike & Bev retired in 2006 to Drake, North Dakota. They spent their retirement years doing their two favorite things: visiting grandchildren and seeking new fishing spots.

Mike was a member of United Community Baptist Church in Anamoose, ND serving as a Deacon. He was proud a veteran and member of the American Legion in Drake, ND.

Mike is survived by wife Beverly (Lemer) Vinton; - Roxanne (Jeff) Zellmer, FL - LeAnne (Alex) Klein, ND - Theresa (Bob) Steffy, SD - Evanne Jami Adam, SD - Tara Anne Tatum, ND - Kenneth (Deb) Vinton, SD - James (Allison) Adam, WA - 14 grandchildren and 4 great - grandchildren. His siblings Monica (Jim) Glinski, WI - Jess (Carl) Waite, WI - Sister Maria Vinton, WI - John (Liz) Vinton, CA - Johnnette (John) Reed, WI - Joe (Vicki) Vinton, WI - Tammy Sorenson, WI - Cindy Rohrman, WI - Toni (John) Stuhr, WI – brother - in law David Wigchers - WI, sister - in law Darlene (Abe) Abel, ND many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Phyllis (Lang) Vinton, parents: Edward, and Helen (Eisberner) Vinton, brothers: Peter and Joel Vinton, sister: Christine (Vinton) Wigchers, brother-in law: Bill Sorenson, parents-in-law: Frank & Gladys (Bromley) Lemer and Sam & Ruby (Heizelman) Lang.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.
