Myron L. Grindheim, 90, of Fargo, ND and formerly of Bowdon, ND passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026 at the Disabled American Veterans Home in Fargo, ND. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, June 10, 2026 at the Wayside Cemetery in Bowdon with Military Funeral Honors provided by the Terry Martin American Legion #175 of Bowdon, Frank Proisl American Legion #33 of Fessenden and the North Dakota Military Funeral Honors Team.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Wayside Cemetery Fund: P.O. Myron was born October 26, 1935 to Alfred M. and Lillie R. Grindheim in Bowdon, ND and confirmed in the Bowdon church. He attended Bowdon elementary and high school, graduating in 1953. Myron received higher education at various, on-base College and professional military programs.

Myron entered the United States Air Force in May 1954, receiving basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. Upon completion of basic training, he was sent to the School of Aviation Medicine at Gunter Air Force Base in Alabama to attend the Air Force’s Medical Administration program. After completing this program, he was assigned to the hospital at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, where he remained until the spring of 1955 when he was assigned to an Air Force medical facility in England.

Myron served at division headquarters in London. In 1957 he married June B. Weaver from Wales; they had a daughter, Karen, born at an Air Force Hospital in London in 1958. Myron and his family returned to the United States in October 1958 and was assigned to the 15th Air Force headquarters at March Air Force Base in South California where, in 1962, his son Keith was born.

Myron returned to England and served there from 1963 to 1966. His son, Tim, was born there in 1965. Myron was assigned to the Strategic Air Command Surgeon’s office, where he remained until 1970 when he was trasferred to the Panama Canal Zone. The family returned to the US in 1974, when Myron was assigned to the Air Force Medical Inspector General Office in a Pentagon Detachment. He served for another year before retiring from the USAF in December 1975. Among his multiple decorations and medals were Meritorious Service Medal, Longevity Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the National Defense Medal. Upon retiring from the military, Myron was employed by the Valley Health System in Hemet, California, where he remained until December 1998, retiring as one of the Senior Vice Presidents. He remained in Hemet until 2000 and then moved to Tulsa, OK.

Myron married Olivia “Gail” (Danenhour) Grindheim in November 2001 and they resided in Oklahoma. In 2020 Myron returned to Fargo where he lived full time until 2024, when he fulfilled his dream of living and traveling full time. He returned to Fargo in March 2026. Until the end, he had a project and lived life to the fullest.

Myron was predeceased by his parents, and his brother Jim. He is survived by his wife Gaile; children Karen Mosby (son in law Wes) of California, Keith Grindheim of Jamestown, and Timothy Grindheim of California; two grandsons Joshua Grindheim of California and Benjamin Grindheim of Jamestown, and four great grandchildren Benjamin, Skylar, Maddox and Violet; two sisters Carol Walth of Bismark and Sharon Brakel of Fargo; nieces and nephews Doran Walth, Rodney Walth, Mark Brakel, Gwen Watson, and Kevin Grindheim.
