Nancy was born on Thursday, February 21, 1952, in Minot, ND at Trinity Hospital to Gunhild (Johnson) and Norman Livingston and welcomed by two older brothers, Jay and Gene Livingston. Nancy's love to sing to God began when she was a young child going for walks, and she continued to sing to God for the rest of her life when attending church, showing she loved him by being a faithful and devout follower until her last breath. Nancy was a kind, cheerful, sweet-tempered child, and kept these traits her entire life. Nancy was very musical, loved playing piano and sang beautifully. She attended Eureka country school for grades 1-8, then Minot Model High School, and then attended and graduated Minot High School in 1970. Having lost her mother when she was 16 and her father at 21, she became very close to her aunts Thelma and Gladys. Nancy pursued her desire to become an elementary education teacher along with her best friend Cindy Haberstroh the fall of 1970. Together they attended and graduated with a bachelors in Elementary Education from Minot State College in 1974. The two drove to Opal, South Dakota and got their first teaching jobs at a country school, with Nancy teaching K-3. On New Year's Eve in 1974 Nancy met the love of her life, Gerald (Gary) Miller at a bar with some friends! The two fell in love, with Gary hooking Nancy with a fishing hook on one of their first dates. They got married on June 26, 1976, lived in the country outside Drake, ND and had their first child, Matthew in 1977, then Scott in 1979, and Emily in 1985. Nancy continued to teach in Karlsruhe, then Drake, and lastly Anamoose until she retired. She loved teaching and was known by many as their "favorite teacher!" Nancy loved sewing, her pets throughout her life, baking, reading, her flowers, spending time with her precious grandchildren, family, and friends whom she loved tremendously. She will be remembered forever as an amazing mom, grandma, sister, wife, and friend, along with her bright blue eyes, beautiful smile, bubbly personality, kindness, and big heart.

Nancy is survived by her husband Gary, children Matthew (Jill) Miller of Hillsboro, Scott of Fargo, and Emily (Robert) Hutzenbiler of Wilton, her grandchildren, Destiny (Everett) Schauer, Graci and Hailey Miller, and Lydia, Carson, and Jack Hutzenbiler, her brothers Jay (Laurel) Livingston, and Gene Livingston, Mother-in-Law Rose Miller, and by many other family and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Gunhild Livingston, Father-in-Law Jack Miller, brother-in-law Kenneth Miller, her grandparents Edwin and Frieda Livingston, Gust and Freda Johnson, among many other beloved family, and friends.
