Patrick J. Jund, 48, Anamoose, formerly of Bismarck, died Sunday, March 15, 2015. His funeral will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Francis-Xavier Catholic Church in Anamoose with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Bismarck. A prayer service will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangements with Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home of Drake.

Patrick James Jund, son of Roy and Rose Marie (Glatt) Jund, was born September 13, 1966 at Bismarck where he grew up and received his education. He attended St. Ann's elementary school and, in 1984, graduated from St. Mary's Central High School where he excelled as a talented drummer with the St. Mary's Central High School Band.

Patrick worked at Skippers in Bismarck while he also worked at Enable Inc. at the Imperial Valley group homes and was co-director at Camp Recreation in Richardton, ND. He did all this while attending Bismarck Junior College as he worked towards an Associate of Arts Degree in music. Patrick was also involved with his nephew in the Boy Scouts, chaperoning many outings with the troop. He began working at the University of Mary as the Director of Student Life in 1988 where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Business and also a Masters degree in Management. For a brief time he relocated to Minot and worked in office equipment sales.

Patrick was married to Mary Sieg on June 2, 1990 in Bismarck. In 1997, he began employment with Bismarck State College as the Director of Student Life. He was also a student government advisor with the American Student Association of Community Colleges (ASACC) and was awarded the ASACC National Advisor of the Year Award in 2001. In 2002, he earned the level of Master Advisor with ASACC and enjoyed the trips to Washington, DC with his BSC students.

In 2005, Patrick relocated to Anamoose with his family and did various employment before starting his own licensed day care, Kids Count Day Care. He enjoyed many hours of learning and playing with the many children who attended his daycare. In his free time, he spent hours teaching his own children the joys of hunting and the outdoors. Patrick always had a fond love for his dogs and always had one with him. He was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge # 1199 of Bismarck and served several years on the Brush Lake Cabin Association Board. He was involved in the Anamoose community by announcing at the annual demolition derby, playing Santa Clause for the children at Christmas and was always willing to take area children to fishing derbies to build their love of the sport. Patrick loved to cook, entertain and be the entertainment for family gatherings. Patrick enjoyed traveling and visited Mexico, Italy and many of the states including California and Washington, DC. He especially loved his family fishing trips to Alaska.

Survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Kathryn 'Kate' and son, Matthew, both at home; 2 sisters, Pamela Jund and Patricia Jund, both of Bismarck; 2 brothers, Greg (Calli) Jund of Manhattan, KS and Roger (Jennifer) Dean of Sonoma, CA; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Michael.
