Raymond Emanuel Skorick, 85, longtime resident of Butte, North Dakota, died Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, in Souris Valley Nursing Home, Velva, North Dakota. He was born December 1, 1928 in Aurena Township, N.D., to the late John B., and Stacia Skorick.

Raymond's birth brought joy to his parents as first born of many children. His first 23 years were spent on the family farm where he helped his parents with farm work. In 1951 the family moved to Butte where Raymond was a familiar figure around town until his move to the Souris Valley Nursing Home in Velva. He enjoyed being around his family but illness kept him from enjoying a full life.

Raymond is preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Skorick and brothers, Glen and Rollie Skorick.

Survivors include: one sister, Ethel (Russell) Plesuk of Butte, two brothers, Paul (Loraine) Skorick of Bergen, and Rinald (Linda) Skorick of LaJunta, CO; sister-in-law Sammy Kay Skorick of Walla Walla, WA and a number of nephews and nieces and cousins.

A graveside memorial funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Butte Cemetery with Rinald Skorick officiating. Family and friends are invited and a reception will be at the Skorick's house in Butte following internment. Arrangements with Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home of Drake.
