Richard Volochenko, 86, Minot, formerly of Kief, died Monday, December 18, 2017 at Trinity Homes in Minot.

Richard Volochenko, son of Anton and Pauline (Dosenko) Volochenko, was born March 23, 1931 on the Volochenko family farm south of Drake where he was raised and attended a nearby country school. He began working on the family farm with his father and brothers at an early age.

Richard moved to Grand Forks in the 1960s and began working at a local café. He returned to Kief in the mid -1980s where he lived until moving to Minot. He lived at the Henry Towers for several years and, in recent years, had resided at Trinity Homes.

Richard is survived by his siblings, Dorothy Hinsz of Cloquet, MN, Walter (Lorraine) Volochenko of Minot, Darlene Anne Olson of Minot and Peter (Lorraine) Volochenko of rural Balfour; sisters-in-law, Anna Volochenko of Kief and LaDonna Volochenko of Moorhead, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Tony Sr., Alvin, Nick and Henry;
brothers-in-law, Ben Hinsz and Roy Olson; and sisters-in-law, Irene Volochenko and Joyce Volochenko.

Funeral: Friday, December 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the American Legion Hall in Butte.

Visitation: Thursday, from 4:00 P. M. To 6:00 P. M. At the Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home in Drake.
