Ronald Letvin, 66, Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Butte, ND, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. A private graveside service was held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Minot. Arrangements with Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home of Drake.
Ronald Lee Letvin was born on June 21, 1948 in Minot, ND to Alfred and Ruth (Miller) Letvin. He grew up in the Butte area where he received his early education, and was very active in sports and class activities. Following his graduation from Butte High School in 1966, he attended college in Bismarck, earning a four year degree.
On October 7, 1970, Ron entered the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on April 10, 1972.
Ron owned and operated the Day County John Deere Implement Dealership in Webster, SD for many years.
Ron enjoyed his time spent with family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. During his earlier years, he was able to travel throughout numerous European countries and China as a young employee of John Deere Company, prior to owning his own dealership.
He is survived by his daughter, Monica Amber Letvin of London, England and son, Chad Michael Letvin of Minneapolis, MN; his sister, Kathleen Letvin Hemmesch of West Burlington, IA; and brother, Greg Letvin of Lockridge, IA.
Ron was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and brother, Rick.
