Stanley E. Schauer, Sr., 71, rural Fessenden, passed away at his home north of Fessenden with his loving family at his side.  A Celebration of Stan's life will be held at the Schauer Farmstead on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM (in case of inclement weather the Celebration will be held at First Lutheran Church in Fessenden, ND.)  Online condolences may be shared at nelsonfuneralhomesnd.com

Stanley Eugene Schauer, son of Walter and Marie (Jundt) Schauer, was born April 23, 1949 at Jamestown, ND.  He grew up on the family farm near Streeter and received his early education in the Streeter Public School.  He later received architectural training at Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls, MN.

In May of 1966, Stan entered the United States Army and served his country until receiving his honorable discharge in May of 1969.

Stan worked as a commercial and residential contractor his entire life. His work took him to a number of states including California, Alaska, Iowa and eventually North Dakota.

On August 2, 1985, Stan was united in marriage to June Risovi in Fairbanks, Alaska.  They later moved to Iowa before settling on a farmstead north of Fessenden in 1991.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, June; his son, Stanley 'JR' (Rachel) Schauer, Jr. of Bismarck; his daughter, Amanda (Zach) Ponzer of Anamoose; 3 grandchildren, Scarlet Schauer, Caprice Ponzer and Brenn Nelson; step-son, Shane Briggs; 2 step-granddaughters, Haylee & Haven Briggs; 4 sisters, Lilla Mae Feigert, Oley (Jim) Krenz & Delphine (Gilbert) Benson, all of Jamestown and Patsy Anderson of Beresford, SD; and 1 brother-in-law, John Black of Prairie Grove, AR.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Kenny, Milo, Marvin and Garry; and 5 sisters, Bardella, Darlene, Jeanette, Inez and Ruth.
